But, even with this fantastic accomplishment, we’re not a site for standing still. We continue to unveil multiple new applications and new technology along with a new-look homepage. All of these design and usability advancements had the user’s experience at the core of their development.

• Sun Talk is the first newspaper site to feature a live phone-in show on the internet featuring Sony award winning DJ, Jon Gaunt with famous guests & regular scheduled contributions from Sun columnists.
• Sun TV streamed 80 million videos – Our users watched more clips in a week than the FT and Telegraph showed in a month. This was the year The Sun became a broadcaster.
• Dream Team is the No 1 pay to play Fantasy Football Game in the world.
• MY SUN our thriving community now boasts over 250,000 users interacting with our stories and each other. Subscription is increasing at a rate of 2,000 new sign-ups every week.
• Bizarre USA, launched in July 2008 extends our Showbiz brand and takes on the big American sites like TMZ and Perez Hilton.
• Sport became a go-to destination for live football with our MATCH CENTRE providing goal alerts and live text commentary.
• The Scottish Sun Online was launched in July. The site grew 135 per cent in the first four months as the Daily Record dropped by 31 per cent.
